CBD synergy with nurse Suzi

Updated: Nov 19

Why have we not been educated about the ECS (Endocannabinoid System)? This network of receptors can be found throughout the body and regulates almost every aspect of our vital bodily functions. The ECS is not only in humans but almost every other animal as well.

I have been a nurse most of my adult life, yet had not even heard about the ECS until a few years ago. After thorough research of this system and working in an holistic environment, I continue to be amazed at the endless benefits. This blog is a way to share with others how they can regain and maintain their own health and that of their fur babies.

Hello, I'm Suzi, being a former RN for 20+ years in ER/ICU/Specialty Infusions, across five states and two countries, I had the great fortune to work with healthcare professionals from around the world in a variety of settings. Being diagnosed in my early 30s with two auto-immune disorders and cancer, I rejected the hand full of medications offered to me due to witnessing the associated side effects and little if any benefit. A few outstanding physicians and nurses that were my co-workers and friends encouraged more safe and effective alternatives. I chose to go down that rabbit hole and have not looked back (now healthy 56 yr. old taking zero medications). I am grateful for the wide variety of learning opportunities on my life path and look forward to sharing this alternative approach which allows the life force of the mind and body to gracefully return.

The endo-cannabinoid system/ECS lies as a safety net under the endocrine system to help biologically regulate the body at a cellular level. This process is known as homeostasis or overall health balance. The ECS activates the innate intelligence of the body which includes CBD receptors located on almost every cell throughout the body.

The two major cannabinoid receptors are referred to as CB1 and CB2 which pick up biochemical cues and affect surrounding cells. Through direct and indirect action, these compounds come together when delivered appropriately and act as a missing link that magically repair damaged cells. They can modulate the immune system and stimulate cleansing of cells that are not needed or wanted by the body, control the pathways which lead to inflammatory responses, and allow cells to intake necessary and lacking compounds.

Throughout this weekly blog I will cover the numerous ways CBD can contribute to health and healing. CBD assists as an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticonvulsant, antidepressant, anti-anxiety, antipsychotic, and neuroprotectant. The first system that will be covered next week will be how CBD can help with skin issues and "buyer beware"...why all CBD is not the same. Lets improve the world by being the best version of ourselves.
